I have had a number of friends ask me a rather unsettling question: Is it true that my absentee ballot will only be counted in the case of a tie? The answer, of course, is no! Absentee ballots count the same as the ballots cast at polling places on Election Day.

Some AU students and faculty have involved themselves in a recent advertising initiative created to eliminate the use of the phrase "That's so gay." The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network and the Advertising Council recently joined together to create an advertising campaign that seeks to decrease anti-gay language, according to the campaign's Web site.

Strategic Plan addresses more student needs

Based on Sue Monk Kidd's best-selling novel, "Bees" is about Lily Owens, a young girl who runs away from her bad home life in 1964 and finds herself in the shelter of three black sisters.
