AU wrestling upsets UNC, 25-19

The AU wrestling team upset the University of North Carolina Saturday, slamming the Tar Heels 25-19 at Bender Arena. Junior Kyle Borshoff, ranked 13th in the nation at 149-pound weight class, defeated UNC's Thomas Scotton in a dramatic dual. Wrestling in a heavier weight class, Borshoff pulled off a last minute take down, grabbing a 5-2 win and the AU team's victory.


Corkery brings firery tempo to women's team

After a rollercoaster 2007-08 season, the AU women's basketball team comes into this season with a fresh approach and a new head coach. Matt Corkery, who was Melissa McFerrin's assistant for four years, replaces her as the Eagles' head coach. McFerrin, who left to become the head coach for the University of Memphis, stunned members of the team with her decision last spring.


Volleyball sweeps league opponents over weekend

The Patriot League championship is just two weeks away and the AU women's volleyball team is red hot, winning nine straight sets over a three-day span. AU beat North Carolina Central University Thursday, beat Lehigh University Friday and beat Lafayette College Saturday, all by a score of 3-0.


Halfway there: NFC midseason review

We are halfway through the National Football League's season, and in the spirit of the fall semester, here is how your favorite NFC squads scored on their midterm exams. I'm sorry if your team plays in the AFC and aren't mentioned in my progress report, I just don't follow the AFC enough and I wouldn't want to provide any "false" insight or hurt your AFC loving feelings.


Volleyball records ten wins in a row

It was another successful weekend for the AU women's volleyball team, as they defeated Patriot League rivals Bucknell University Friday and Colgate University Saturday, in straight sets on the road. AU ran their winning streak to 10 straight matches, including seven straight against Patriot League opponents.


Eagles defeat Midshipmen, 3-2

The AU women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to seven this weekend, beating the U.S. Naval Academy Friday and the New Jersey Institute of Technology Saturday in two tightly contested matches. Friday's match against Navy was AU's 23rd straight win against their Patriot League rival, a streak that dates back to 1989.


Time to drop the puck: Excited for the NHL

This weekend marked a busy time in the sports world. Fans were glued to the television for week five of the National Football League season, Chicago baseball fans threw things at the television, and halfway around the globe, the puck dropped on the National Hockey League's season in Prague, Czech Republic.


Eagles shut out PL rival

The AU women's volleyball team continued to plow through its opponents Friday, when the team beat Lehigh 3-0. It was the Eagles' fifth win in a row, a stretch in which AU has won 15 straight sets. The Eagles, who are now 4-0 in conference play, dismantled Lehigh University by set scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-23.

Yes Red Sox fans, that noise that's kept you awake is the pounding of obnoxious inflatable balloons. That image you see when you close your eyes is an innocent stuffed animal. You're tossing, you're turning and you keep flipping over to the other side of the pillow.
