Being healthy goes beyond looking fit

My first-hand struggles and missteps have given me a lot of insight. I've learned that being healthy is a lot simpler than it is made out to be, as long as you use some common sense. If something sounds dumb, like drinking only lemons, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for a week, it probably is -- and it's probably bad for your health.

LOVE ME, BABY -- In their latest show, the Washington Shakespeare Company have decided to put their own spin on the classic french tragedy "La Dame aux Camelias," by Alexandre Dumas, fils, creating the satirical play "Camille: A Tearjerker." The show runs through Sept. 27.

The world in which a young theater company lives is exciting, dark and risky. Unlike some of the more established theatre companies in D.C., groups like the Washington Shakespeare Company are willing to choose different playwrights and take bolder liberties. Hell, they'll even do a whole show in drag. Enter WSC's first show of the season, Charles Ludlam's drag classic, "Camille: A Tearjerker."

Comptroller impeachment charges dropped

All charges against SG Comptroller Matt Handverger have been dropped, following an apology issued by Sens. Jared Alves and Josh Rothman early Friday morning. Handverger is set to resign from his position next week, according to a source close to The Eagle.

Former senator: Meiselman, Prescott discussed impeachment before summer

Student Government Secretary Colin Meiselman, Class of 2010 Sen. Steve Dalton and Vice President Alex Prescott discussed removing Comptroller Matt Handverger during finals week last semester, according to former Sen. Jordan Boyd. Boyd, who is on a semester-long leave of absence from AU, informed Handverger of this information via Facebook this morning.

The AU Department of Public Safety is promoting its free techniques of updating students about safety concerns on and around campus, according to DPS Chief Michael McNair.

To the amazement of its authors and their editors, an Eagle column this week sparked campus-wide controversy and prompted public pushback. Outraged students debated the piece in their classes. Campus organizations issued official statements of criticism. Simply put, people were peeved.
