The vibrations on the dance floor were not just a foreign special effect, as Eagle staffer Marisa Kendall found during the earthquake that hit Chile, where Kendall is studying abroad. The city where she is staying sustained some fatalities, but the worst of the quake hit 200 miles away, according to Kendall.
AU is the only area school that has chosen to ticket its students.
Public Safety has written 923 tickets to AU community members for parking on off-campus residential streets in the past year. All AU students, faculty and staff are prohibited from leaving their cars on residential streets when coming to campus.
Following the fatal June 22 crash on Metrorail’s Red Line and several Metrobus accidents, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has begun implementing several new safety procedures.
Each year, scores of AU students don their Halloween costumes after class and set out with the goal of getting candy from as many foreign countries as possible.
The Newseum’s newest exhibit will feature a re-creation of deceased “Meet the Press” Moderator Tim Russert’s office. The exhibit will open to the public on Nov. 20 and will run through 2010.
