When AU plays Holy Cross in any sport one thing is for sure: you will always get both teams' best effort, no matter what the records. The Holy Cross Crusaders played the AU Women's Soccer team (3-3-1) strong but succumbed to the continuous Eagle pressure early into the second half, losing the game 4-1.
Freshman Elizabeth Maloney entered Saturday evening's Women's Volleyball match against Lafayette with hardly any offense to her credit. That changed by the end of the night. The outside hitter pounded out three kills, including the match winner, to push the Eagles (5-8, 2-0) easily past the Leopards (5-10, 0-2) 3-0 (30-13, 30-19, 30-20).

After AU Volleyball dropped its first two games Saturday night against No. 15 Michigan State's watertight defense, the Eagles might as well have been left for dead, but they just refused to die.
