Field surface: from arsenic to turf

The Field Hockey team may be getting a new field sooner than originally planned.

"It is possible we [will] have a new field in by early spring; although it is sheer speculation, we need to wait and see when the University gets the field back in its possession. Weather could also play a role in the timing," said Ed McLaughlin, associate athletic director for Facilities.

McLaughlin also mentioned that it would be a best-case scenario and most likely the field would be in by middle to late spring. The field will most likely have some form of synthetic grass and will be a huge boost to the intramural program and the University community.

Another facilities note: The AU team locker rooms will be re-done at some point in the coming years. No definite timetable has been set but the school will begin fund-raising for them starting in October with the Capital Campaign.

Section 202 hosts Connor Sturniolo and Gabrielle McNamee are joined by fellow Eagle staff member and phenomenal sports photographer, Josh Markowitz. Follow along as they discuss the United Football League and the benefits it provides for the world of professional football.
