·

If DailyCandy.com were a student on campus, she would be the girl who's well liked by everyone, gets good grades and is invited to every party and campus event throughout the school year. But what makes her especially different is the fact that she remains humble, and despite her high social status, wants everyone else to join in on the fun.

Religious roots run deep

America was founded on the values of the Jesuit Christian faith, and those that try and shut that out of American culture does so at the peril of the nation. History shows that Christian values are at the heart of America's founding fathers, documents, laws, and influences.

Four UC students sentenced to jail after binge drinking death

Letters to the editor

Dear Editor, This article is not about the ethics of the ex-president of American University but it is rather about the ethical dimensions revolving around what one might call "Ladner-gate." Pens whose ink was paid by Ladner were competing to tear him apart once he became officially the scapegoat of a political affair that will always remain behind closed boards.

Reflections could 'Dance Forever'

What has tribal African drums, half-naked dancing men, orange spandex and a strobe light? Though it sounds like the makings of a really low-budget rave, all of these elements intermixed perfectly to complement the beautiful ballet stylings of the Washington Reflections Dance Company in a one-time performance on Oct.

AU students: grow up!

Everyone else has put in his two cents on Ladnergate, so I suppose that I might as well do the same. Blame it on the uninteresting news cycle. Winston Churchill - and a lot of others since - once said, "Show me a young conservative and I'll show you someone with no heart.

Staff editorial: Fired up about smoking in D.C.

The ban on smoking in restaurants and bars in the District is all but assured, and passions are ignited on both sides. Smokers are understandably upset that their ability to blow smoke is being fanned out by others. Some non-smokers are upset that they have to cough through a meal and leave smelling like they were smoking themselves.

Don't forget to give me my IM T-shirt

Championships are not always won in packed stadiums or sold-out arenas. Sometimes they can be won in empty gyms, where the only fan is a house mate waiting for a ride home, the refs want the game to be over with so they can finish their homework, and the prize is not a trophy or a check, but a T-shirt.

Wainwright heats up 9:30 Club

The church of Rufus Wainwright is a smoky club in northwest D.C. He rests helpless and made-up on a white crucifix, his hands tied, his chest heaving under an electric blue tunic. "Gay Messiah," a swirling, wispy acoustic song about the coming of a homosexual savior (who will, in fact, be wearing tube socks) plays behind him, and the words resonate from his tilted throat, a call to his followers.
