Student robbed at gunpoint

According to a Public Safety crime alert, on Saturday at around midnight, an AU student was robbed at gunpoint near the trees of the Rockwood Building on the south side of campus. After the student parked his vehicle, he walked to campus and was approached by two white men in their early to mid 20s.

Firehouse relocated

The engine company that responds to fires at AU moved from its temporary location on Nebraska Avenue to Connecticut Avenue. Engine Company 20 is now at 4930 Connecticut Ave. NW, sharing space with Engine Company 31. According to AU's Office of Institutional Research, that notion may be correct as only 35 percent of last year's graduates went straight into the work force. Wogaman, along with several other Jewish, Muslim and Christian panelists met in Kay Spiritual Life Center to discuss human rights and religious issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict Sunday.

Hearing waived in case of DWI death

Jerusalem women speak about their lives, faith and visions for students

Partners for Peace organized its 6th annual tour entitled "Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision." The program was sponsored at AU by the Women and Gender Studies Program. Three women, one Christian, one Muslim, and one Jew shared their stories about living in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

Gao Zhan sentenced

On March 5, former AU researcher Gao Zhan was sentenced to seven months imprisonment and eight months of community confinement after she pled guilty to illegal arms exports and tax fraud last fall, according to the U.S. Attorney's office. Gao faced a possible sentence of 10 years.
