Fall into layers of cozy fabrics

The change of seasons means it's time to phase out your summer wardrobe. Fall is a great time to layer your lighter-weight pieces that can be easily removed during warm afternoons. The trick is to be moderate in your choices without dressing at either end of the seasonal spectrum.

D.C. gets charged up with electrifying Aussies

China's economy poses U.S. problem

In 1933, Winston Churchill knew that Nazi Germany was on the rise and that the world would soon see its darkest days. But his colleagues considered him a fool. The very thought of another world war was ridiculous. After all, Germany was a peaceful nation and was economically dependent on the rest of Europe.

Men make beautiful women, terrible lovers

When you cast the world's greatest love story entirely with men, it becomes a crude and aggressive steamroller of a tale about pride, revenge and adolescence. Shakespeare Theatre's launch of the classic "Romeo and Juliet" is just that, performed as Shakespeare himself would have seen it: 100 percent testosterone-based.

'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.' delivers brilliant 'Clear Skies'

Anyone who's played last year's "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl" knows that it was a love-it-or-hate-it first person shooter/role playing game hybrid. On one hand, the massive open-ended world, beautiful yet terrifying environments and stunning artificial intelligence created a fresh and engaging experience.

Both VP picks leave much to be desired

Republican presidential nominee John McCain and Democratic nominee Barack Obama must both wish they could call a mulligan on their vice presidential selections right now. If Obama had convinced New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to join the ticket, his lead in the polls would probably now be approaching the size of the financial bailout.
