Folksy crooner Livingston Taylor to perform at the Birchmere in VA

The Birchmere will be graced with Livingston Taylor, an artist who is sadly not very well-known for anything other than that one time he hit number 30 on the charts with “I Will Be in Love with You,” this coming Thursday. Some people will look at him and just see the great James Taylor’s brother, and, while they share the same North Carolina twang and stand with a similar stature, Livingston’s talent is not one to be overlooked.

D.C. councilman tours AU, discusses Campus Plan

D.C. Councilman at Large Michael Brown stressed the need for conversation, cooperation and compromise between the neighbors and AU to successfully implement AU’s Campus Plan during his visit April 4.

Handwarmer causes Beeghly Building evacuation

The Beeghly Building was evacuated at 11:54 a.m. due to vapors of sodium acetate, a crystallized compound commonly found in handwarmers. The building has since been re-opened. A handwarmer in boiling water set off a smoke alarm and evacuated the Beeghly Building for nearly an hour while the D.C. Fire Department’s Hazardous Material Unit (Hazmat) responded to the incident.
