Artist disappointed by University's removal of statue

The artist behind the nine-foot-tall statue of Native American activist and convicted criminal Leonard Peltier said he feels the University’s decision to remove the work from the Katzen Arts Center’s lawn is an affront to freedom of expression. AU students, alumni and staff joined more than 1,000 protesters who gathered in front of the White House on Sunday afternoon in response to President Donald Trump’s executive order now commonly called the “immigration ban.” The executive order signed by President Trump on Jan.

AU trustee resigns to join Trump administration

AU trustee Gary Cohn resigned from the Board of Trustees on Jan. 25 after accepting a position in President Donald Trump’s cabinet as Director of the National Economic Council, Student Government President Devontae Torriente confirmed during an Undergraduate Senate meeting on Sunday. Cohn, a graduate of AU, also left his post as the president and chief operating officer (COO) for Goldman Sachs upon acceptance of his new position.
