Brookville's 'Beautiful View'

Seldom can an artist create a sound that is both ethereal and original, but Brookville's debut album "Wonderfully Nothing" sculpts introspective, melodic soundscapes as prettily on the record as it does in concert. Brookville, touring with the United Kingdom's Goldfrapp, played the first show of its tour last Wednesday night at the 9:30 club.

Eagles win one but lose the AU Classic

After AU Volleyball dropped its first two games Saturday night against No. 15 Michigan State's watertight defense, the Eagles might as well have been left for dead, but they just refused to die. The Eagles (3-8) staged a ferocious comeback in the last two games and fought off game point four times, but it was not enough to overcome the Spartans (8-2), who won the match 3-1 (30-19, 30-22, 34-36, 30-26).

Avoid tired 'temptation'

"The Fighting Temptations" is a typical romantic comedy, with a plot focused on gospel music. The majority of this rather lengthy movie is spent, for better or worse, listening to the entire cast sing over and over again. The film focuses on the coming together of a community and on an unfortunately dry love story.
