Sophia Wirth said she decided to run for SG president because she wants confront problems that are the most pressing to students.
The spring Student Government elections will determine next year’s president, vice president, comptroller and secretary, as well as the presidents and boards for class and school councils. As an organization, SG is the main advocate for undergraduate students to AU administrators, and also works to bring programming and events to students, according to its website.
The Student Government Undergraduate Senate passed a bill on March 23 to increase the senate speaker’s pay from $1,000 per year to $1,500.
