Wearing the proper athletic gear is important when it comes to safe and efficient exercising. Sometimes that means having a lucky pair of running shoes or the right pants that are sure to let your thighs breathe, keeping the sweat down there to a minimum. If you manage to look a little fashionable while doing it, it’s a plus! Whether you’re willing to go all out with the big athletic brands or you are looking for something simple that you can find locally in D.C., we’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of some places to look during your next athletic wear hunt.
Take your mind off of the inauguration and the traffic it’s bringing this weekend with these events happening in and around D.C. There may not be much going on on-campus or downtown, but the rest of the D.C. area has plenty to offer, including musical and theatrical performances, a museum tour and restaurants serving up some great deals.
On paper, AU’s on-campus nutrition is golden. AU dining services offer nourishing salads at Freshii, an assortment of vegetables in the Terrace Dining Room and rotating vegetable-centric dishes at Global Fresh. And yet, students don’t seem pleased.

Gilmore Girls fans rejoice: You can finally get your caffeine fix just like Lorelai and Rory do at Luke’s Diner. On Oct. 5, three northwest D.C. cafes will transform into the Stars Hollow hangout. Flying Fish Coffee & Tea, Qualia Coffee and Three Fifty Bakery and Coffee Bar will serve free coffee with custom Gilmore Girls themed coffee sleeves from 7 a.m. to noon (while supplies last). Oct. 5 marks the 16th anniversary of the Gilmore Girls series premiere, and signals just over a month and a half left until Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life”premieres on Netflix on Nov. 25.
