Pop star Hayley Kiyoko will headline AMFest, an arts and music festival, at American University on Saturday, April 20, the AU Student Government Student Union Board announced Wednesday.
The crowd at AmFest was thin throughout the night, but as Aminé’s performance approached, the Tavern became increasingly filled with students. When Aminé took the stage, his voice flowed through the room and the lights danced across his face. The crowd lit up and welcomed the Ethiopian rapper they had been waiting for.

What started as a beautiful day to listen to live music at AU Student Union Board’s AmFest ended suddenly when thunderstorms forced headliner Manila Killa’s performance to be cut short around 10:20 p.m. The second annual arts and music festival, held on April 15, had originally been scheduled to run from 2:30 to 11 p.m.
This afternoon, AU Student Union Board will partner with over a dozen student organizations on campus to showcase a series of performances from RDGLDGRN to Matt Hunter to Calm and Crisis and more. Peppina, a 20-year-old singer from Finland, will also take the stage in the amphitheater during the event, and The Eagle caught up up Peppina to talk about her journey as an artist and upcoming performance at AU’s first ever, AMFest.
D.C. area Indie-GoGo and alternative rock band RDGLDGRN will headline Student Union Board's first ever arts and music festival on March 26 in American University’s Amphitheater.
