Rapper Aminé to headline SUB’s 2018 AmFest

The 2018 AmFest will feature rapper Aminé as the headliner. 

Oregon rapper Aminé will headline AmFest, an arts and music festival open to all AU students, Student Union Board announced Tuesday.

He will lead aneight-act lineup. AmFest will take place on Saturday, April 7 from 3-11 p.m. in the Tavern. Amine’s hit single “Caroline” debuted at no. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and his debut studio album “Good For You” was released in July 2017.

Also on the lineup are D.C.-based band Smith Gardens, roots reggae band Nkula, 2017 AmFest alums Lavender, production duo FootsXColes, alt-punk group Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Son, alt-hip-hop/rock band GUMP and singer Mac Ayres.

The event will feature food from D.C. vendors, and will give student organizations the opportunity to highlight local talent as well as themselves. Admission to AmFest is free for AU students.
