Is the Nats' bandwagon well-built?

Be warned. This is another Nationals column. These days they're about as plentiful as District pedestrians donning blue or red baseball caps bearing the cursive W. (If the proliferation of columns and caps counts toward a team's future success, the city should plan the World Series parade now.

On Sunday, the new mascot for the Washington Nationals was presented, or should I say hatched. He broke out of his egg at the first afternoon game in Nationals history, much to the delight of everyone in the park. Recently I was able to get an exclusive interview with the new mascot in which he answered all the burning questions people want answered.

Well, now that we know that the Nats' new official mascot is Screech, let's look at other ideas that didn't quite make the final cut. 10. Larry the Lobbyist - Larry would be more than welcome to give you a free T-shirt, take a picture with the kids, or dance around.

The higher-ups at AU might not have expected this to happen. In a season filled with adversity, AU's best team, the Men's Tennis squad, defends its Patriot League crown at home against Colgate, Army and Navy this weekend. The tournament opens Saturday with the Eagles taking on Colgate and Army playing Navy.

Promising late efforts boost hope of title

If things had gone as planned earlier this semester, the AU Golf team might have entered this weekend's Patriot League championship with its off-the-course situation on its mind. But now, with the team ensured one more year of play before its elimination, the Eagles can head to the Bucknell University Golf Course with their minds on something else: winning their first PL championship.



Section 202 host Gabrielle and friends go over some sports that aren’t in the sports media spotlight often, and review some sports based on their difficulty to play.
