Men's basketball rallies past Colgate, wins 68-60

The men's basketball team was forced to come from behind on Sunday afternoon, rallying from nine points down at the half to defeat Colgate 68-60 in Hamilton, N.Y. The game started out on a positive note for the Eagles, who took a 21-15 lead on a three-pointer by junior Brian Gilmore at the 9:39 mark of the first half after trading baskets back and forth with the Raiders during the opening minutes.

Women's lacrosse falls to Ohio State in season opener

The women's lacrosse team lost 14-3 in Saturday's season opener in Columbus, Ohio, against perennial powerhouse Ohio State University. The game started off close, with a 1-1 tie going into the 10th minute. However, after an 8-0 Buckeye run finishing off the first half, the Eagles struggled to find their footing.

The women's basketball team broke a record last night in Lewisburg, Pa., when they beat the Bucknell Bison 50-46 to mark their fifth straight win of the season, a first-ever occurrence for the Eagles since joining the Patriot League. Guards Liz Hayes and Pam Stanfield racked in the points for their team as AU started the game off strong, entering the first half with an 11-3 run.

Freshman Liz Lear's career-high 16 points helped lead the women's basketball team to its fourth straight victory on the road Saturday, defeating the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 62-49. Lear's eight consecutive points in the opening minutes, combined with back-to-back three-pointers by fellow freshman Michelle Kirk and senior Talicia Jackson, gave AU a commanding 22-5 lead throughout the game's first 10 minutes.

Men's basketball shines with cameras rolling

The Eagles got a huge lift from an unexpected source Sunday when junior Brian Gilmore came off the bench to score a career-high 26 points to lead the Eagles to an 82-74 win over Lehigh at Bender Arena. The Eagles fell behind early and quickly found themselves in an 11-4 hole as the Mountain Hawks converted on seemingly every possession in the first five minutes of the game.
