Public Safety hopes extra lighting, patrols will improve campus safety

Public Safety is re-evaluating the safety of AU after five reported sexual advances on campus since August, four within the past two weeks. Director of Public Safety Colleen Carson met with Physical Plant representatives Friday about installing new Blue Lights in problem areas, adding officers to the evening shift patrol and comparing data with the Metropolitan Police Department and public safety directors at other area schools.

However, Matthews who spoke last Thursday in the Wechsler Theater, has presented the struggles of women through her lens from the crisis in Afghanistan to massacres and displacement of people in Mozambique to women in Iraq.

NASA ranked first among federal agencies according to a report, "Best Places to Work in the Federal Government," but leadership among the agencies received the lowest scores, according to a study completed by an AU Institute.

SC, greeks call it an 'AU night'

The Student Confederation, along with Greek Life and the Washington Wizards, presented a check for $10,000 to the Children's Miracle Network Tuesday night at "AU Night" at the MCI Center. The money will go to the Kids Care Fund, which supports the basic needs of child health care, and to the Children's National Medical Center in D.C., said Kelly O'Neill, coordinator of Events and Promotions for the Network.
