Wonder Woman, Buffy debut hot new comics

Many critics dismiss superhero comic books as a genre for males to fulfill their adolescent power fantasies, but the past few weeks have proven that nothing could be further from the truth. Over the last two weeks the success of female superheroes and female comic book creators has shown that there is a place for strong women in the superhero genre, and championing the cause are none other then the first superwoman, Wonder Woman and her spiritual successor Buffy.

Rugby will lose four starters to graduation

With the end of the spring rugby season, the AU Men's rugby team will be losing four players to graduation. Max Kopper, president of the club and starting No. 8, Sven Romberg vice president and starting flanker and Mark Viola starting prop, all forward positions, brought strength, heart, and intensity against every team the Eagles faced.

Coach Jones Named to Silver Anniversary All-American Team Men's basketball head coach Jeff Jones was named to the 2007 National Association of Basketball Coaches Silver Anniversary All-American Team, NABC officials announced. Jones, a starting point guard at the University of Virginia, is second in school history in assists, with 598.

Student government brief: SG elects new speaker

On April 22, the Undergraduate Senate passed a resolution on campus safety and also elected a new Speaker of the Senate. Current Parliamentarian, Caitlin Hodgkins, a sophomore in the School of Public Affairs, was elected the new speaker of the Senate. Hodgkins is also currently the Judicial Board chair, a post she since resigned from after her election.

Study says age gap difficult for adult college students

Adult students, which are undergraduate students over the age of 25, are often misunderstood at colleges, according to a recent study conducted by Lumina Foundation for Education. However, support services are offered to all AU students, including "returning students," the term the university uses to distinguish students over the age of 25 because all students are considered to be adults in college, according to Dean of Students Faith Leonard.
