Q&A: Jack Black and Richard Curtis on the Red Nose Day telecast fundraiser

The United Kingdom’s widely successful Red Nose Day charity campaign will come to the United States for the first time on Thursday, May 21 at 8 p.m. EST. Airing on NBC, the three-hour event will feature some of today’s biggest celebrities wearing a red nose (in reference to clowns) to get a laugh and raise funds for organizations, such as The Global Fund and the National Urban League, in the United States and abroad.

Concert Review: Charli XCX at 9:30 Club is quintessential pop

Blue lights flashed, illuminating the stage. Three women, who were spotted earlier overlooking the stage from the balcony, descended upon it dressed impeccably in cheerleaders uniforms. One took the drums, the other picked up an electric guitar and the third took center stage. It is the third that stood out the most, in her high white gogo boots, crazy brunette hair and sparkling tiara. She makes the crowd illuminate, cheer and fistbump.
