NASA ranked first among federal agencies according to a report, "Best Places to Work in the Federal Government," but leadership among the agencies received the lowest scores, according to a study completed by an AU Institute.

SC, greeks call it an 'AU night'

The Student Confederation, along with Greek Life and the Washington Wizards, presented a check for $10,000 to the Children's Miracle Network Tuesday night at "AU Night" at the MCI Center. The money will go to the Kids Care Fund, which supports the basic needs of child health care, and to the Children's National Medical Center in D.C., said Kelly O'Neill, coordinator of Events and Promotions for the Network.

Bush gets college vote?

By conventional wisdom, college students tend to be more politically liberal than the general population. However, a new survey by Harvard University's Institute of Politics suggests otherwise. The poll, conducted last month, found that 61 percent of the respondents approved of President Bush's performance.

Eagles score first NCAA berth

The AU Field Hockey team defeated Quinnipiac 4-1 on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in a play-in game in College Park, Md. The win propels AU into the NCAA Div. I Tournament, where it will play Duke in the first round on Saturday, Nov. 15.

Mono: Excuse to watch ATV

Over the last couple of weeks I have been plagued with a tough case of the ol' mononucleosis. Yeah, mono. That's right, the kissing disease. Rusty had the kissing disease. Please refer to my picture and refer back to that last sentence. Believe me, getting the kissing disease is a small miracle.

'Tour de Force' takes on Tavern

Tour de Force, an all-day Tavern concert and promotion, sailed on waves of unprecedented heights and suffered at the bay of staggering lows in terms of audience attendance and participation on Saturday. Sponsored and set up by the AU Independent Arts Collective and WVAU, the campus radio station, the event featured more than 10 bands from all stretches of the East Coast.

Half of GA walks out in protest

The General Assembly, AU's student legislature, ended its meeting abruptly Sunday as at least 13 members walked out over the impeachment of a representative. Although the members walked out, they will not face suspension as they plan to attend the next meeting this Friday.

AU may help establish an American-style university in Nigeria, an undertaking approved by the Board of Trustees Friday that could determine how AU fulfills its goal of becoming a global university.

AU ranks high on survey

AU ranked in the 90th percentile of Doctoral-Extensive schools in the nation, scoring highest in enriching educational experiences, while first-year students gave the University a score of 71, out of a possible 100.
