Well, it's official: I am looking for a dedicated intern - one who shall function as the proverbial handrail that guides me toward what our parents have always referred to as "the real world."

AU grapplers can't overcome three forfeits

Winning a dual meet in Division I while giving away a forfeit is a difficult task. Injuries have forced the AU wrestling team to give away forfeits in the first three weights this year. And Wednesday night, the Eagles traveled to Lock Haven where the 18-point deficit put AU's back against the mat.

'Ocean's Twelve' follows fun, familiar formula

Sequels are often just an excuse for studios to make money off a franchise based on the people starring in the movie, and it works well in "Ocean's Twelve." Like most sequels, it follows a formula, but with "Ocean's Twelve," the formula works on a sheer entertainment level, despite the repetition of jokes and cons.

Pixies re-form after a decade of dormancy

It was arguably the most anticlimactic breakup in the history of rock 'n' roll: death by fax machine. The Pixies were fresh off their thankless opening slot for U2's "Zoo TV." On New Year's Eve 1992, Frank Black faxed the band's management with alert of the breakup. Days later, he announced the split live on BBC Radio 5. But in their posthumous years, the Pixies sold more records and gained more fans. And for that reason, a reunion was unlikely (given the band's tension) but inevitable.

Dem-O-Cat Says: Bush needs to study, too

According to political columnist Catherine Kozak, "As AU students get ready to hit the books in an attempt to prove that they actually learned something this semester, President Bush is meeting with heads of state, brushing up on his strategy in Iraq with a late-night game of Risk, and rolling the dice hoping for a lucky seven on the economy."

Sideline Scholars: Thomas to lead AU to '05 NCAAs

It's been a four-year struggle for recognition of unfulfilled potential and glimpses of stardom for AU forward Jason Thomas. But his 23-point, 11-rebound performance on Saturday as AU knocked off national power Vermont may be the late turning point in his career. Say what you will about honorable mention All-American Taylor Coppenrath's 22 points and 15 rebounds, or point guard T.J. Sorrentine's 27 points, or AU sophomore Andre Ingram's 19 points on four back-breaking three-pointers. But Jason Thomas was clearly the best player on the court Saturday.
