There were 411 fatal opioid overdoses in D.C. in 2020. As opioid fatalities continue to increase among young people, learning how to reverse an opioid overdose is a vital skill for college students. Unfortunately, American University does not currently offer these resources.
The National Portrait Gallery’s biographical exhibition “One Life: Maya Lin” is an intimate portrait of the muses and artwork of Maya Lin, who is the first Asian-American to be featured in the “One Life” exhibition. Lin is a renowned architect best known for designing the Vietnam War Memorial and dedicating her career to exploring the relationship between nature and humans.
Student-run dance clubs have become an integral part of the artistic community at AU. For dancers at all levels, they are a great way to meet community members and individuals who have a passion for performance and sharing their craft. Although AU’s dance organizations have provided students with community and social opportunities, the dancers who keep these clubs alive have noticed tensions between themselves and the AU Dance department, who they feel may not show enough support for their clubs.
