Whether you are looking for a fun pastime or an activity to unleash your competitive side, American University’s club tennis team is the place for you.
There is a lot that goes into a craft. It requires a great deal of interest, love and a deep desire to keep learning. All these factors can lead you to be just a bit better than you were the day before. It soon becomes your passion and you dedicate your world to it. The crazy part is that in most cases, you don’t really know what the outcome will be, but that is exactly why a craft is so special. The process of working diligently at something you love is oftentimes thankless, which is why I think it can become so addictive. That is what athletes, creators, thinkers, artists all have in common — a love for the process. Imagine being all of those things, some people are. Take for instance American University’s men’s soccer captain Jerry Zouantcha.
On the basketball court, junior forward Emily Johns is a 6-foot-1 force to be reckoned with. Off the court, she is a soft-spoken graphic design major who loves to spend her free time in the Katzen Arts Center.

They had improved a previous 10-22 losing record in the 2021-2022 season to a winning 17-15 this season. Taking down the Georgetown Hoyas for the first time in 40 years, ending the Colgate Raiders’ 27 Patriot League game win streak and taking down No. 2 Navy in the Patriot League quarterfinals are all highlights of their newfound success this season.

After 10 seasons as the men’s basketball head coach, American University has parted ways with Mike Brennan, according to a press release sent out by the Athletics Department Thursday night. He was first named head coach on April 30, 2013. He currently sits at third on AU’s all-time career wins list with 125. He ends his AU head coaching career with a record of 125-165.
Senior outside hitter Zeynep Uzen has already made a lasting impact on American University’s volleyball team. Since winning the Patriot League Championship in her freshman season, she has continued to dominate on the court, accomplishing many impressive feats in her four years with the Eagles.
