Eagle Rants Jan. 22

•@transfer student: Why don't you join one of the hundreds of clubs on campus? There really is a club for everything. If you missed the club call out meeting, then you can go to the student government website for a list of clubs. [Editor’s note: There’s also an involvement fair Feb. 1 in the Tavern from 2-5 p.m. All sorts of AU clubs and groups will be there with information on how to join.]

•Beauty in the Beast in 3D = AMAZING!

•I miss my bunny. :(

•Dear transfer student, AU seriously has like 20 events hosted by clubs and different university departments each day. Read the Today@AU emails for each day's times and locations of different club events and go join one and meet some people. AU students are extremely nice and genuine. You just have to take the first step. :)

•@Editor's comment "Many advice, sex, etc. columnists for news organizations use their real names (i.e., the Washington Post’s Carolyn Hax). We do the same." That is beside the point. (And btw many newspapers have anonymous sex advice columns as well.) The point is that 1) AU students want a sex advice column 2) someone is willing to write the sex advice column anonymously. So you can either a) chose to alter the red tape restrictions and give students a sex advice column or b) stick to your pointless policy and deprive readers of what they clearly want. Seems pretty simple.

•@"So I've been hitting the gym the whole school year..." Rude. You have to start sometime.

•Re: "How long is too long to wait for a proposal?" I've known people who have been together for six plus years before getting engaged. It all depends on where you are in your life. Maybe your boyfriend doesn't feel like he's financially ready for a wedding/marriage. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that he doesn't want to commit. However, since it seems important to you I would sit him down and have a serious talk about why he doesn't want to propose rather than giving him an ultimatum about proposing.

•UGH I can't bring myself to do work. I already have three projects for different classes to do but I can't find the motivation. Maybe it is because it is only the first week of school...

•Am I lazy if I'm a second semester freshman and I don't have an internship?

•@ transfer student: I've been here for a semester and I still have no friends. I wish I could give you advice but nothing has really worked for me. Just try to enjoy the city and do lots of what you love! I'm always taking pictures, reading at the library, and exploring the awesome places around here. That being said, it still gets intensely lonely at times.

•I can't be the only senior who is worried what's going to happen to her relationship after graduation, right? I don't want to break up with my boyfriend but I don't know if I can do the long distance thing. Help a sister out!

•AU! Please tell us what is replacing McDonalds! It suspense is killing me!

•Hughes has turned into Biddy City! I can't even get to my mailbox without getting a contact high from the body spray.

•Oh ye knowers of all things Founder's Ball - my boyfriend goes to GW but I would like to bring him. Can I still get him a ticket?

•Whoever wrote "I believe in Sherlock. Moriarty is real." in the snow in the amphitheater is awesome!!

•Perhaps Tim McBride uses the automatic door openers because some of our doors here are REALLY HEAVY. My arms were actually sore from opening one of the doors in my dorm for weeks straight until I decided to use the automatic button.

•@New Transfer Student: Try out for sports, audition for a show/music group, or join a club. Finding people with similar interests will help you feel welcome. :) Good luck!

•Is it true there's a floor with a cat? I like cats...

•aepie please never go to a basketball game again your stupidity amazes me.

Rant here!
