This is in response to Joseph Clark's letter to the editor regarding the Letts terrace flood and ill-equipped bathrooms.
I can only speak from experience as a female resident living on campus, but every bathroom stall I have encountered in the residence halls has been equipped with a trashcan. For what more are you asking? Are you so unfamiliar with the concept of indoor plumbing that you believe you can flush anything you please? Most girls learn by age 10 that they cannot flush tampons down the toilet - it is common sense. The Housing and Dining program's only negligence in the situation of the Letts terrace flood was in failing to predict how moronic AU students can be.
To me, this letter is just another example of how unaccountable AU students are for their actions and how willing they are to blame anyone, especially the offices that take care of them. It would seem that an AU student's favorite activity is to complain without taking any real action. I urge students in the future who have a problem to make legitimate complaints in order to effect the change they wish to see, rather than complaining in an open forum to no effect.
