Campus brief: Kogod grad school wins ad campaign award

Kogod's Graduate School of Business won a Gold Advertising Award in the Admissions Marketing Report Annual Advertising Awards competition Feb. 1.

Kogod received the award for the "Where are you going?" campaign, which appeared in D.C. Metro cars and print ads last year. The campaign, developed together with Solomon Says agency of Atlanta, placed first in the "Graduate School" section of the "Outdoor Transit/Billboard" category.

Admissions Marketing Report, a monthly newspaper printed by HMR Publications Group, has sponsored the competition for 21 years, according to the HMR Publication Group's Website www.hmrpublicationsgroup.com. This is the largest educational advertising competition in the United States, with over 2,200 entries submitted in this year's contest, the Website reported.

The judging panel consisted of health care marketers, advertising professionals, health care consultants, advertising creative directors and the editing board of Admissions Marketing Report.

The list of competition winners, which can be found at the HMR Website, lists all award recipients including the winners of 237 gold and 206 silver awards. The competition was divided into 29 categories, along with a "Best of Show" section, which included the 16 colleges and universities that "exhibited the highest production standards, creativity and professionalism," according to the category description.
