Police blotter

Thursday, Oct. 6

A staff member reported that his wallet had been stolen from Capital Hall.

A bomb threat was called in to Capital Hall and the building was evacuated. The building was searched by the Metro Police Department bomb squad and nothing was found. The building was cleared for reentry.

A suspicious male was seen in Letts Hall. A female resident of that building reported that the male had harassed her on numerous occasions, and he was subsequently barred from all AU residence halls.

The Resident Director of Congressional Hall reported that a student was feeling lightheaded and short of breath. The student was transported to Sibley Hospital.

Friday, Oct. 7

There was an altercation on the 6th floor of Centennial Hall between a male student and a female who is not an AU student. Public Safety responded, removed the woman and called a taxi to take her home.

Lewd, indecent and obscene acts were reported in the Anderson Lower Level Computer Lab as two individuals were observed engaging in sexual behavior. Though the individuals fled before Public Safety arrived, they were later identified. No reprimand has been issued, however.

Officers patrolling the area around then-President Benjamin Ladner's private residence discovered that fliers related to the AU investigation were attached to his door. The papers were subsequently removed.

Graffiti was discovered in the parking lot behind the Kay Spiritual Life Center.

Sunday, Oct. 9

Three separate incidents of vehicular damage were reported over the course of the morning in the Nebraska Parking Lot. Three additional incidents took place during the same afternoon.

A staff member reported the theft of his wallet from Bender Arena.

Monday, Oct. 10

A visiting guest left a laptop in the stairwell in Mary Graydon Center, and the laptop was subsequently stolen.

Tuesday, Oct. 11

A student was observed driving erratically on the Beeghly Chemistry roadway, honking excessively with people hanging out of the windows of the vehicle. Public Safety stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, but was over 21 and below the legal level of intoxication. The student was advised to settle down.

Credit and debit cards were stolen from a staff member's unsecured locker in the Jacobs Fitness Center.

A faculty member reported that money had been removed from a petty cash box in the Washington College of Law.
