Field Hockey takes PL title

Both teams in Saturday's Patriot League Field Hockey championship made it there by the slimmest of margins. No. 19 AU got the berth with a 3-2 overtime win over No. 24 Lafayette in the semifinals. Holy Cross finalized its spot in a similar way by beating Bucknell 2-1 in overtime. It was no surprise that the title match finished any differently.

Swimming and Diving teams

Despite putting up a strong fight, both the Men's and Women's Swimming teams lost to Army in the season's first Patriot League match-up on Saturday. The afternoon was highlighted by AU senior Dominick Szabo's record-breaking performances. Szabo broke pool records in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke, the latter of which had stood for nine years.

Lady Eagles go down and out

AU Women's Soccer fell to Navy, 4-1, in the Patriot League Championship on Reeves Field Sunday afternoon, ending the Eagles' hopes of back-to-back league titles and a return to the NCAA tournament. Navy forward Amelia Sheveland's two goals in the 26th and 80th minutes sandwiched a Navy scoring barrage that didn't quite reflect the match on the pitch.
