AU wrestling beats Binghamton, 25-16

On the heels of two lopsided wins over George Mason University and Ohio State University last week, the No. 11 AU wrestling team tied a team record, notching its 13th win this season after beating Binghamton 25-16 on Friday.

New NBC show reveals celebrity ancestry

Desmond Tutu once said, “You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.” This is poignant when thinking of NBC’s new TV show “Who Do You Think You Are?”, an hourly reality program that takes celebrities and shows them their family history. “Who Do You Think You Are?” is produced by former “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow and is a partnership between NBC Entertainment and Ancestry.com, the latter helping to do genealogy research.

Chromeo to play at 9:30 club this weekend

On Feb. 5 and 6, the electro-funk duo by the name of Chromeo will grace the 9:30 club for an all-out dance party. The duo, formed by Dave 1 on vocals and guitar, and P-Thugg on synthesizers, talk box, and keyboard, made a name for themselves last year when they played on Live with Daryl Hall and then recreated the performance at Bonnaroo.

Staff Editorial: CERF round 2?

We love green energy and sustainability. We really do. However, we’re questioning the wisdom of the Clean Energy Revolving Fund, which is now getting revamped, repackaged and renamed for a second attempt at success. Haven’t heard much on it, aside from the referendum last year for the one-time $10 fee? Yeah, neither have we – and that’s part of the problem.

AU shouldn’t give in to phony ROTC patriotism

The first time I heard about the Westboro Baptist Church protesting our campus was circuitously through a friend of a friend. She incorrectly believed the Church was targeting their protest against ROTC because “don’t ask, don’t tell” was repealed weeks before (and, you know gays deserve the right to murder, too).
