Nats prevail again, winning streak now at eight games

While the Nationals’ June 18th offense was not as explosive this game as it has been the past four games, it didn’t need to be thanks to a strong start by pitcher Jordan Zimmerman. The Nats have now won eight games in a row, beating the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 Saturday.

Seventh inning rally saves Nats

Just when it looked like the Washington Nationals were headed for another loss in which they could not put runs on the board, the team rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring six runs to beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-6 June 14.

Students, staff come out for Capital Pride celebration

Volunteers from the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transexual and Ally Resource Center at AU were invited to march in this week's Capital Pride Parade and table at the Capital Pride Festival. AU students also came out to spectate at these events. To some, they represent an unusual opportunity to celebrate their identities.

AU athlete drafted for Major League Baseball

Men's basketball forward Stephen Lumpkins is trading in his basketball shorts for a bat and cap. Lumpkins will postpone his graduation from AU to join the Kansas City Royals' rookie team in Arizona this summer. Last season, he was the Eagles' second-leading scorer after Vlad Moldoveanu, who graduated in May. The hardest thing for Lumpkins to do, he said, was tell his teammates about his choice to leave.
