The first "Fable" was a charming game that did not quite live up to its expectations. Lead designer Peter Molyneux promised many more features in the second installment, which lives up to its hype. Even if the morality system has weak spots, "Fable II" an excellent RPG with fun, exciting quests and an epic world.

"Ninja Gaiden II" is a ninja's quest to stop massive legions of demons from destroying the world the old fashioned way: Hacking them to pieces. The game's breathtaking combat, friendly user interface and frantic action easily make it one of the best action games on Xbox 360.

Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise," sequel to the 2006 hit "Viva Piñata" for Xbox 360, has changed little of the basic game's concept, but the successful formula makes it hard to resist. You tend a green garden and must lure piñatas to your garden. By planting trees and flowers, building homes and gradually drawing rare critters to your garden, your patch of bare grass will flourish. There's a story that mostly stays in the background, giving you a reason to actually tend a garden but letting you focus on gameplay.

The original Xbox had a game library consisting largely of first-person shooters and sports games, with only a few memorable exceptions. Now, the Xbox 360 offers a variety of different genres, including the classic role-playing game, as exemplified by "Blue Dragon." In an era where RPGs are declining, "Blue Dragon" is an exciting trip back in time to the roots of this genre.
