For AU students, food delivery options can appear pretty limited. If the Terrace Dining Hall doesn’t appeal to you, a quick glance at Grubhub will tell you to get ready for pizza or Chinese food. But in this sea of pepperoni and wontons comes a welcome challenger: Pitmasters Back Alley BBQ, a local restaurant that will deliver to campus.

Over 1,700 freshman students will be calling AU home this semester, one of AU’s highest yields ever, according to President Neil Kerwin’s midsummer campus update. College can be a jarring experience for freshman, but this year, AU has over 300 clubs that can help kickstart the next four years.
AU will continue fall 2014 study abroad programs to Israel, despite current conflicts in the region. Students who planned on studying in Israel this fall have been given the option to defer or cancel without penalties.
It’s an achievement AU is proud of, even going so far as to plaster the statistics on the side of some shuttle buses. Mary Caroline Brazill, a rising senior in the School of International Service, and Eric Rodriguez, a recent graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences, have both become 2014 Truman Scholars.
Alum Toby McChesney issued a challenge to AU alumni. If 1,000 alumni donate money to AU by May 11 commencement, McChesney will donate $25,000 to the university.
