Celebration and passion at D.C.'s Pride Parade

Photos from Saturday's Pride Parade

Last Saturday on June 11, thousands of people from the DMV area gathered around the Dupont Circle neighborhood to watch and celebrate the District’s annual Pride Parade. Recognizing the LGBTQ community, the parade was the first to be held since same-sex marriage became legal last summer.

The parade began at the intersection of 22nd and P Street and continued through the Dupont neighborhood to the intersection of 14th and R Street. Although the parade officially began at 4:30 PM, many protesters, activists and LGBTQ community members flocked to the circular park before the start time.
