Thanksgiving break is finally next week, and I’m thankful for alcohol, art and film. Explore D.C. this weekend and venture to different District bars or the learn about the history of film at the American Museum of Natural History.
Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington presents D.C. Cocktail Week. Bars and restaurants across the city will sell exclusive drink and food specials, such as Bar Duponts “Love Buzz” concoction paired with a steak sandwich for only $14.

Over the weekend, The American Museum of Natural History will host screenings of historical films with a panel of journalists, artists, filmmakers and scholars to discuss the implications of the films and what they mean in American culture. The final event on the Film Forum schedule includes a discussion centered on “The Birth of a Nation,” a production that celebrates it’s 100th anniversary this year. Tickets are free.
