Graffiti found in Ward

Two walls inside a Ward Circle Building stairwell were vandalized with black paint between 5:35 and 5:49 p.m. on Jan. 14, according to the AU Public Safety Daily Crime Log.

AU Public Safety officers said they are investigating who graffitied the inside the building’s right stairwell during the second day of classes.

The University had painted over the symbol with white paint by 12:30 p.m. Jan. 15, but black paint drops were still visible on the floor on Jan. 16 The words “Property is Theft” were painted over as of 11:50 a.m. on Jan. 16.

AU Public Safety was notified of the vandalism by an AU community member at 5:49 p.m. Jan. 14, Associate Director of Media Relations Maralee Cseller said by email.

The investigation is ongoing, Cseller said in an email.
