Update: Nine on-campus buildings to experience power outage

There will be a power outage tonight between 2 and 2:30 a.m., according to an email from Facilities Management.

PEPCO required the outage in order to update and repair equipment, Associate Director of Residential Facilities Sophia Benedicktus said in an email.

The outage will affect:

  • Battelle-Tompkins Hall
  • Beeghly Hall
  • East Quad Building
  • Hurst Hall
  • Kay Spiritual Life Center
  • Kogod School of Business
  • Mary Graydon Center
  • Ward Circle Building
  • Vehicle Maintenance

Waste line update
McDowell residents will hear minimal noise such as hammering and nail guns as contractors work to make a sewage connection to a new assistant resident director staff apartment, Benedicktus said in an email. The new apartment is currently the McDowell fitness center, according to Benedicktus.

“The renovation of the space will continue through the end of December until the project is done,” Benedicktus said in an email.
