AU moves up two spots in US News college rankings

AU moved up two spots in this year’s U.S News and World Report’s national universities rankings, jumping from 77th to 75th place in one year.

This year’s rankings of universities were largely based on the SAT and ACT scores of the incoming students, graduation rates and many other factors, according to the U.S. News and World Report’s methodology.

AU’s average SAT score range is 1740-2040 and 26-31 for the ACT, according to College Prowler.

This brings a change from last year’s methodology which relied more on high school class rank of incoming students instead of SAT and ACT scores. However, the system was changed because more high schools are no longer placing rankings on student transcripts, according to the U.S News and World Report website.

AU also earned the 63rd spot on U.S News and World Report’s High School Counselor Rankings.

This ranking is based on a poll taken of high school counselor’s opinions on which national universities provide the best undergraduate programs to students, according to the U.S News and World Report website.

AU’s Washington College of Law was named fifth for international law and second for clinical training in the graduate school rankings, The Eagle previously reported.
