WCL to hold make-up classes after hurricane cancellations

The Washington College of Law is holding make-up classes due to cancellations from Hurricane Sandy. These classes are required for students by American Bar Association standards.

“The American Bar Association requires a minimum of 700 class minutes per credit, as well as a minimum of 65 class days to be held per semester,” Franki Fitterer, director of public relations and marketing for WCL, said in an email.

The law school reserved rooms for classes on Nov. 11 and Nov. 17. Faculty are allowed to arrange alternative class dates, according to Fitterer.

The University did not hold classes on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 because of the storm.

All make-up classes will be recorded and can be found online on MyWCL, Fitterer said.

Despite cancellations, there will be no impact on when the students will take the bar exam, Fitterer said.
