Vasylytsya appointed speaker of Undergraduate Senate

The Undergraduate Senate appointed former executive clerk Anna Vasylytsya as speaker of the Undergraduate Senate on Sept. 9.

Vasylytsya replaces former Speaker Joe Ste.Marie, who resigned from the position to become comptroller.

As speaker, Vasylytsya does not plan to focus the Senate on any specific value.

“I see the position of the Speaker as more helping the senators in what they want to do,” Vasylytsya said.

Vasylytsya is the first female speaker in four years, according to Class of 2012 Sen. Brett Atanasio.

The Senate also approved the Board of Elections’ Election Regulations and Standing Rules. The Election Regulations updated rules about using Facebook while campaigning.
