The Campus Plan construction is running on-schedule, according to Assistant Vice President of Facilities Development and Real Estate Jorge Abud.
“We’re confident that the schedules that we’ve established, we’ll be able to meet,” Abud said.
Abud said much of the current construction is being completed out-of-sight. This includes North Hall, which is not viewable from the main part of campus, and Letts Hall, where most of the present construction is done on the building’s interior.
Construction on Nebraska Hall has also started now that AU has acquired the proper permits for building were acquired, according to Abud.

AU will begin construction on many of its facilities this week following the D.C. Zoning Commission’s approval of the 2011 Campus Plan. Many of these projects will continue into the school year as the University expands its campus, according to Don Myers’ May 23 memo.
Parking will no longer be available by the President’s Office Building and Nebraska Hall. The space beside the President’s Office Building will be cleared for the new residence building North Hall as additions are made to Nebraska Hall to accommodate more students.
Both projects will be completed in August 2013, according to the memo.
Renovations to Letts Hall began May 14 and will end August 15. The University hopes to modernize the residence hall for incoming students.
The McKinley Building will undergo its first renovations next week after many months of delay. The new School of Communication will not be completed until 2014, according to the memo.
Construction on the Tenley campus for the new Washington College of Law is scheduled to begin July 2013 and finish in August 2015. Students will continue to live and take classes at the Tenley campus until spring 2013.
Architects are currently working to redesign the space at 4401 Connecticut Ave. to accommodate WAMU 88.5 and the University Communications and Marketing department. However, construction will not begin until spring 2013, according to the memo.
The University will not begin renovating the Nebraska Parking Lot into the East Campus until the summer of 2014. This space will house 590 students after its completion in 2016.

Correction: A previous version of this article said construction projects near the President's Office Building and Nebraska Hall would be finished by August 2012. The University plans to finish both projects by August 2013.
