Sonya's greatest hits

"Sonya is definitely a kind woman. She is a very tough and knowledgeable person who cares for others and is most capable in her station at the nest. I am honored to have been trained by her ... and I am thankful for her getting me hired and through some of the most [difficult] times at the Nest and in life in general. I like how she always listens to you and has a way of empathizing with everyone she meets." Ian Bellamy Senior, Kogod School of Business

"Sonya is always the sweetest person. When I was a student, I frequently bought items at the Nest at 2 a.m., and despite the timing, Sonya was the best cashier and store employee. I will never forget the time when Sonya was one of the only people working both at the register and at Subway late one night. She put forth great effort to make sure the students received excellent customer service, despite being the only staff member at the Nest. The university should definitely recognize her for her service." Nawal Mustafa Alumni, School of International Service

"Over the past year, Sonya and I have developed a very close relationship. Periodically, my friends and I come into the Eagle's Nest during study breaks blasting music from a set of portable iPod speakers. Sonya loves it! No matter what time of night it is, she's always down to dance and have a quick five-minute party while my friends and I shop. Her personal favorite artist is Jay-Z, so I've been playing her a lot of his new album lately." Nathan Moore Sophomore, School of Public Affairs

"This guy in front of me was being [rude] to her once, talking on his cell phone and ignoring everything she was saying to him. She still wished him a good day. I thought that was sweet of her. She was working a triple shift that day [because] a lot of people were out sick, and I offered to get her a snack or something. She said, 'Honey, that's sweet of you, but you're a college student. Save it for your future.'" Jill Hyman Freshman, College of Arts and Sciences
