The Apple Store slated to open in the vacant tunnel space next to the UPS Store will not be opening, said JoDe Nowland, director of auxiliary services.
"We ran into so much trouble," she said.
The university hit a roadblock in the negotiations over the level of service the store would provide and the role the university would have with the new store, according to Nowland.
"They just did not make the university feel secure," she said.
Instead, tentative plans call for the space to go to an Asian food-flavored concept with a $5-6 price point. The new restaurant would combine with Megabytes' existing on-campus delivery program.
Student Government President Andy MacCracken said he was "a little frustrated with how quickly they're jumping to new concepts without student input."
