Police blotter

April 16

An unsecured gas grill was taken from an exterior walkway of the Beeghly Chemistry building.

The door from the Office of the Provost to the first floor of Leonard Hall was discovered chipped.

A grocery store shopper refused to pay her parking fee after disputing the time spent in the parking lot at 3201 New Mexico Ave. N.W. Public Safety officials barred her from the parking lot.

April 17

The D.C. Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services transported two sick students from Anderson Hall to Sibley Hospital.

An RHG Group shuttle hit a stopped AU shuttle. There was no visible damage to the AU shuttle and no injuries were reported.

April 18

A bulletin board and door on the second floor of McDowell Hall were damaged.

A student attempted to use another student's ID to enter the Jacob Fitness Center. The student said he found the ID in the Tavern and decided to use it since he did not have his own.

Public Safety confronted an underage male student who was carrying a 30-pack case of beer and walking onto AU property outside of Nebraska Hall. Public Safety confiscated the beer. Judicial Affairs and Mediation Services charges will be filed.

April 19

A male suspect assaulted an 18-year-old female student and a 15-year-old female at the corner of 42nd Street N.W. and Van Ness Street N.W. The male suspect approached the females and asked them for directions, then grabbed the student's shoulder and breast. The man then grabbed the other female. He ran east on Van Ness when the two females began to scream. The suspect stole no property and the Metropolitan Police Department initiated a report.

DCFD transported an intoxicated and injured student to Sibley.

Anderson desk staff contacted Aramark to respond to a discharged fire extinguisher, tipped recycling and garbage cans and thrown food in the hall's fourth-floor lounge. There were no known witnesses to the incident.

A mulch fire in the Letts-Anderson quad activated a fire alarm and the buildings' residents evacuated. Facilities Management extinguished the fire with a water hose.

Public Safety, a resident director and two resident assistants responded to a report of a sick person in Anderson but did not transport the student to the hospital.

April 20

A DCFD ambulance transported a sick student to Sibley.

An employee turned off her computer and locked the door upon leaving her office in Watkins building. When she returned, the door was open, the computer was on and a sweater was missing.

Aramark was notified when graffiti was discovered in an Anderson elevator.

DCFD and Public Safety responded to a report of an injured person in Washington College of Law. The student was not transported to a hospital.

DCFD and EMS transported an injured community member from Mary Graydon Center to the hospital.

A bicycle that had been secured to a bike rack was taken.

April 21

A community member said he left a laptop computer on a bus or in the Terrace Dining Room.

Housing and Dining staff smelled possible marijuana in an Anderson hallway. The staff saw two students with a pipe with burnt residue after knocking on the door. A third student in the room denied smoking with the other two students. DPS confiscated the pipe and the resident director will refer the incident to JAMS.

Aramark was contacted to remove graffiti from inside a men's bathroom in Anderson.
