Anti-World Bank protesters vandalize banks

At least 15 protesters vandalized two banks near Logan Circle Saturday morning, The Washington Post reported.

The protesters, dressed in black, caused more than $110,000 in damage to a PNC Bank and Wachovia Bank, according to the Post. They used bricks and hammers to smash windows and made anti-World Bank and anti-International Monetary Fund symbols with red paint.

Police suspected that the vandals were associated with the groups that organized protests later in the day, the Post reported. More than 200 people came to the protests, and six people were arrested.
