Several hundred French workers trapped five executives in their Grenoble, France offices in protest of proposed layoffs, CNN.com reported.
About 500 employees of a Caterpillar factory took part in the blockade to protest 700 proposed layoffs, according to CNN.com.
Nicolas Benoit, a spokesman for the workers' union, told CNN.com that executives had failed to show up to negotiations. Workers were allowing the executives to get food.
The blockade marks at least the third time in the past month that French workers have blocked executives in their office. Similar blockades took place at 3M France and Sony France earlier in March.
