A Bellevue, Wash., man turned the tables on two burglars who had broken into his house by driving off in their getaway van Feb. 10, The Seattle Times reported.
Patrick Rosario said he was at home because he had recently been laid off from his job at Washington Mutual. He took the van after seeing two men he did not recognize in his house, unplugging his electronics, according to the Times. The van was in his driveway with its doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition, he told the Times.
Rosario drove the van to a friend's house as he waited for the police to arrive. A neighbor across the street saw the burglars drop Rosario's televisions, laptop and wife's jewelry box at the front door when they realized their van had been stolen, the Times reported.
Rosario told the Times he has since installed a stronger door and a burglar alarm system.
