Thumbs Up ... Thumbs Down

Thumbs Up...

to change ... It is here folks. After eight years of President George W., it is time for Barack H. No more waiting - his team is in place, and all we can do is hope and pray for his success. But of all the changes President-elect Obama will engender there is surely one AU students are looking most forward too ...

... bars open late on Inauguration weekend! Yes, for those of us of age, this coming weekend will be a golden opportunity to celebrate the new president's inauguration, Snoop Dogg style, "'til 4 in the morning." It is also a golden opportunity for local bars to cash in on out-of-towners and bolster the local economy. Look forward to drunken tourists all over the National Mall this weekend. ... Ninjas! Not really, but seriously, ninjas are as still cool and some of us here at The Eagle still want to be one.

Thumbs Down...

The endangerment of cute animals is unacceptable and we expect President-elect Obama to fix this ...

Odds are this won't stop even one of these outlaws. Odds are equally sure that having to swipe twice to get into the dorms will aggravate everyone ...

... Pirates. We aren't even trying to be silly - this is for real. It's not cool when a small group of AK-47-wielding bandits imperil oil shipments out of the Persian Gulf.
