Two employees of DC Afterschool for All, a program providing after-school instruction and supervision for children in D.C., were found guilty by auditors of receiving $13,000 in city reimbursements for restaurants and strip clubs, according to a Washington Post investigation.
The two have not faced charges and continue to work for the program, the Post reported.
Allegedly, Emerson Crawley and William R. Jones, who work as technology managers at the program, filed reimbursement requests with the excuse that the excursions were for a "school planning meeting" and a "summer school closeout meeting," according to the Post.
Their supervisor, Esther Monclova Jackson, told the Post Crawley and Jones were "extremely talented" and "they weren't doing anything that they felt was wrong at the time, but maybe it was."
